For most individuals a garage is just a storage area where extra or items that are not being used as often are kept however, a garage is more than a storage area. Improving your garage will help you in your time of need.
Before getting into improving your garage you need to eliminate any item that does not belong in the garage. Here are some important changes that need to be brought out in your garage:
· TOOL WALL
A tool wall is the base of all garage designs. Tools can get difficult to locate, especially when work is being done resulting in incomplete work. Tool walls help to keep all the tools you own in check. More often than not, we find ourselves going out and purchasing a new tool only because we could not locate our old one. Tool walls help you keep record of the tools actually missing. A tool wall is easy to put up. A simple tool wall consists of strong nails to hold the tools hammered into a pegboard. The tools may be arranged according to frequency of use or size.
· SHELVES
Shelves are the key to an organized area. The biggest advantage of shelves include saving space. The garage can get extremely messy when you need to find the smaller items such as nails and screws. Shelves help with these problems. Shelves can be mounted on the wall next to the tool wall so that it may be easier to reach in order to complete the collection of items before you get into your work.
Boxing items and labeling can be a big time saver. Arranging the lesser needed items on the top shelves and more frequently used items on the middle shelf helps with ease of locating the items without having to worry about kids or pets getting hurt. Safe items such as buckets and hoses may be placed on the bottom shelf in the view of the fact that, that is the shelf kids and pets would be able to easily reach.
· COUNTERTOPS
Countertops may be hard to install inside the garage however, this helps a great deal in the organizing and improvement of your garage. The miscellaneous or frequently used but safe tools may go on the countertop making it easier and available on the go. Countertops may come in a simple countertop only design or it may come with smaller cupboard which only makes the storage easier. Gardening tools including soil may be stored inside the smaller cupboards that come along with the countertops. Countertops with sinks can be really accommodating without which you would be going back and forth inside the house to clean up.
